Standing at an elevation of 216 meters, Palamidi served various roles, including a prison for Theodore Kolokotronis, the chief of the Greek Revolution. Subsequently, our exploration leads us to the “floating” Fortress Bourtzi, accessible by a brief boat ride to the islet. Originally built by the Venetians, it transformed, serving as a fortress, a residence for executioners, and even a hotel.
