Argolis Tour

Argolis Tour from Athens: Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplion in One Day

Argolis Tour

A full day in the Peloponnese, in a private Mercedes with your own English-speaking driver. The first stop is the Corinth Canal, cut through solid rock to join the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. Then on to Ancient Corinth and the Temple of Apollo, in the city where Saint Paul once preached.

Next comes Mycenae, the kingdom of Agamemnon. Walk through the Lion Gate and see the great beehive tomb known as the Treasury of Atreus, or Tomb of Agamemnon.

At Epidaurus you visit the ancient theatre, famous for acoustics so clear that a whisper on stage can be heard in the top rows.

The day ends in Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece, with its old town lanes, the Palamidi fortress above and the little Bourtzi castle in the harbour. There is time for a coffee or a gelato before the drive back to Athens.

It is a private tour, so you set the pace. A licensed guide for the archaeological sites can be added on request.
